Final episode of 3 part BBC documentary here. A big picture snapshot of the conflict between science and religion, and here, longterm, it is shown that neither can win the debate, It seems they must combine. (lay gnostics will quietly disagree)  In case the reader is not sure, modern science is  another religion, invented in 1619  which pointedly ignores subjective experience, most of our our existence. Playfully we could say modern science is the religion you do when you are not doing a religion. Science wrongly brainwashes the population into believing that if it is not scientifically proven , by white coated priests, it doesn't exist.

Andy Clark philosopher and cognitive
scientist University of Sussex, Now Edinburgh,  describes God as a mere byproduct of story telling. Bless him. He has had no personal experiences at his young age. Sees no value in God. If one can manage without God what's the point? He is just an imaginary byproduct. Part 1
Answer  the illusion of separation makes him believe he is a mere smart animal. He is unaware he is gestating.  Like an eaglet in an egg. None so blind.
Anecdote The precursor hormone to testosterone and oestrogen is DHEA. That mysterious hormone ocurring in men and women  was written off as a "junk hormone" for 60 yrs. (Useless byproduct) Similarly we carry  lots of "junk" DNA. "mere byproduct" Still nobody knows what it's for. Any puzzle we tend to call "useless byproduct" like the human appendix.

Some of the celebrities named in this series are being contacted by myself such as leading astronomer Quaker Jocelyn Bell Burnell. In the third episode she practically begs to be gnostic. It would help if other lay gnostics contact the named people in the show with an LG recommendation. Jocelyn has an email address on Google ! Another good candidate is Dr Peter Fenwick.

Andy Clark
Sussex University, Cognitive scientist. False pattern recognition theorist. A  simplistic theory, for TV.  Part 2 at 3 mins.
As an engineer, an evidence based thinker. Believes NDEs are just false patterns. Would greatly benefit from the medically measurable physical evidence provided by Lay Gnosis for a second intelligence to self reveal within him......

Brian Goodwin Biologist Schumacher College, says modern science has cut us in half. He calls the obsession with objective science a pathology (a societal disease) that turns us into  mere machines. He laments that most of our life is actually subjective (smell of a rose) etc and is being discredited by science. His message is a distinct warning against over investment in science, literally disfiguring us .Part 4 at 2min 30.

"On 15 July our dear friend and colleague Professor Brian Goodwin died peacefully in hospital with his wife Christel at his side. Brian had not been well for some time. He fell from his bike on his way to the College and then found it difficult to recover following surgery due to his underlying health problems."

Parts 5 and 6  Uncertainty  makes life interesting and is so necessary for true intelligence to flourish.  Lay Gnosis with its medically measurable physical evidence can connect objective science and the subjective giving them both equal value. Ultimately combining the  two, enabling God to shake hands with science, and Welcome them Home.
In order of appearence final clip  Bart Kosco,Engineer Fuzzy logic, Andy Clarke (machines must believe in God to be smart), Brian Goodwin, Philosopher semi gnosticscientist paedaway , Jocelyn Bell Burnell, Astronomer Quaker, Uncertainty the spice of life, George Steiner, Philosopher, Uncertainty is richness. Science versus Religion pt 3
Andy Clark philosopher and cognitive scientist University of Sussex, unawakened,
Then Bart Kosco Engineer points out the unnatural obsession we have with certainty, demanding that the  statement "sky is blue" is as reliable as the  numeric conclusion 2 plus 2. It is a deep societal insecurity.FEAR.
The late Brian Goodwin Biologist semi gnsotic Schumacher College,  at 2 mins 30 says modern science has cut us in half. He calls the obsession with objective science a pathology (a societal disease) that turns us into  mere machines.A destructive separation. He laments that most of our life (smell of a rose, thrill of music) is actually subjective and is being discredited by science. Edited out of us. His message is a distinct warning against over investment in science, literally disfiguring us . Part 4 at 2min 30.
